As a former school library media specialist and professional in the field of librarianship since 1981, Dr. Nancy Everhart was aware of the need to assist library media specialists in their preparation to meet National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification.
“What motivates young readers to read the Harry Potter series?” Much has been written about the phenomenal impact that J.K. Rowling’s series has had on inspiring young readers. But most of the research has focused on the perceptions of adults (teachers, librarians, parents). Colette Drouillard’s dissertation research project shifts the focus to the perceptions of the young readers.
